Free domain names or free domain registration is not the hardest thing to find on the internet but to find one that carries credit can be slightly harder. Free domains often find themselves associated with spamming, hacking or porn.
Reasons for wanting to register a domain name could purely be from a keeping the cost down to wanting a shorter URL for an existing domain name. One of the most popular would have to be co.nr that offers a free web domain redirection that you can point at an existing website.
Another that is growing in popularity would be the co.cc, and because I come from South Africa I like the ring to this domain as it’s a great name if you are a registered close corporation. To register the domain its 100% free for personal use but in the second year of business use the domain will have to be registered for $3 – still a lot cheaper than the usual $9 other domain companies demand.
Another great domain giveaway website would have to be za.net, where they give away two different types of domains the za.net and the za.org. Both have been exclusively reserved for South African use, and seem to be quite popular and I have even seen well known companies advertising on TV with there company followed by the za.net extension.
Advantages Disadvantages
| co.nr | FREE! | Redirection only |
| co.cc | FREE! | 2nd year $3 for business use |
| za.net / za.org | FREE! | SA only |
